Week 3!

This week we watched episode 1 series 1 of skins, looking at representation of age. We did this through Mise en scene, camera and editing but only watched the first 15 minutes of the episode. We noted down every detail we could whilst watching the episode and tried to get a lot of examples for each area of the analysis.

We then watched an episode 1 of moses jones and looked out for diagetic and none diagetic sound in the episode. We then watched the clip again and had to analyse the technical elements of camera editing and mise en scene in the sequence. This was to help us pick out these things in a short clip like what we would get in the exam.

At the end of the week we did a media quiz on all the camera angles and sounds we have learnt to have a over view of the techniques.

Week 2!

13th september 2009
This week we watched a episode of life on mars, then we compared it to a episode of casualty. We wrote down the characters, mise en scene, sound and icons of each programme. We compared the similarities and differences of each drama, and then written an essay showing these similarities and differences. Life on mars was a crime drama, and casualty was a hospital drama.
